Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Sift together dry ingredients and blend in sour cream and water till the batter is smooth.

Add vanilla and mix till batter is fluffy.

Pour into two greased 8” cake pans.

Bake in a 350-degree oven for 30 minutes or until the cake springs back when touched.

Classic American Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients

½ cup butter

3 squares of baking chocolate

1 cup brown sugar

½ cup whole milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 ½ cup powdered sugar
